Chen’s solid pitching leads Kansas City past Tampa bay

Kansas City (westernkansasnews.com)–Bruce Chen gave up an earned run on five hits in seven innings of work to lead the Kansas City Royals past the Tampa Bay Rays 8-2 Tuesday night. The Royals scored four runs in the third and eighth innings, capped off by a three-run blast by Jeff Francoeur. Yuniesky Betancourt also had a two-run homerun in the game for KC. Kansas City goes for the sweep of the Rays this afternoon in a 1:10 start at Kaufman Stadium. It will be Everett Teaford getting the start for the Royals, while Matt More will take the mound for Tampa Bay.
