(Dodge City, KS) (westernkansasnews.com)   Dodge City based Catholic Bishop John Brungardt is leading members of his diocese in a rally at the State Capitol on Friday in support of religious freedom and liberty.  Brungardt oversees the faithful in 28 counties throughout Southwest Kansas.  He is one of four Bishops in total in the Sunflower state.

Brungardt says Catholics from across the state will assemble from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Topeka to call attention to what they believe are threats to their religious freedom—sometimes from the U.S. federal government, other times from governments and factions in other countries far away.  Brungardt is one of the youngest Bishops in the state and says one of the challenges facing the church is maintaining relevance with congregants and young people
