URGENT-Police Arrest Suspect Who Brandished Gun at YMCA

(Garden City, KS) (westernkansasnews.com) Garden City Police have arrested the man who they believed got in a scuffle with another man and brandished a gun at the YMCA in Garden City on June 5th.

Police Sergeant Michael Reagle reports that 20-year old Garden City resident Kevin Rivers was taken into custody at a Crest way residence at 7:36 Monday night after police responded to the report of an unwanted subject.  When Officers arrived they recognized Rivers as the suspect who terrified staff and visitors at the YMCA earlier this month.  Rivers was also wanted on a bench warrant for failure to appear.  He was booked into Finney County Jail and faces a litany of charges, including:  aggravated assault and use of a firearm, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and failure to appear.  His bond was set at $175-thousand.  Luckily, no one was seriously injured in the incident that occurred at the YMCA.
