Wheat farmers throughout Kansas are busy this week harvesting winter wheat. According to the Dodge City Daily Globe, the Kansas Grain and Feed Association is reporting that wheat farmers in Trego County have begun harvesting better than expected crop yields. In WaKeeney, wheat harvests are weighing in between 60-and-65 pounds per bushel. In most parts of the state, farmers are anticipating a stronger wheat harvest than in recent years.
