Downtown Vision issues call for
FallFest 2012 vendors
Plans are underway for Garden City Downtown Vision’s FallFest 2012 slated for Saturday, September 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street in Garden City.
“We want to provide local and area vendors the opportunity to bring their products and wares to sell in the great central location of Downtown Garden City during FallFest 2012,” said Beverly Schmitz Glass, Downtown Vision executive director. “This year we are once again working in tandem with the Art in the Park folks along with the Knights of Columbus and its Octoberfest to join us to help create a day-long event for all ages and interests! Last year we had over 5,500 attendees come through taking in this grand festival on Main Street and we’re expecting a record crowd again this year.”
This annual event will be similar in format as last year’s festival. The booth rental is $50 for Individuals/Non-Profits, $65 for Non-Commercial Vendors w/Electricity, $80 for Commercial Vendor/No Electricity, and $100 for Commercial Vendor w/Electricity . There will be a limited number of electrical 110 and 220 connections and those will be reserved on a first come-first served basis.
“The booths will be lined up on both sides of the center line of the street to create a better flow of foot traffic so pedestrians will have the opportunity to venture up one side and down the other,” said Glass. “We are moving the entertainment back to the center performance and sound stage to create a central location for FallFest attendees to meet up with friends or relax and enjoy the stage events. We are also looking for individuals and groups that would like to perform for about 20 minutes. It’s a great way to showcase your talent and have some fun to boot.”
Glass added the booth rental fee would be waived for any group performing in the entertainment arena for 20 or more minutes who would like a booth for sharing information or selling fundraising products.
The booths will be placed at appropriate locations to accommodate all types of vendors and products. Because of Downtown Vision’s agreement with the Knights, vendors are asked to not offer bierocks and/or bratwursts.
To participate in Fall Festival 2012, call 276.0891 or email vision@gcdowntown.com and ask for the FallFest registration form. Deadline for entries is Friday, September 7, 2012. Vendors who prefer to pay using their Visa or MasterCard may do so by calling the Downtown Vision office.
