There will be a candidate’s forum on Saturday, July 28th at the Finney County Fairgrounds featuring area candidates for State Representative and County Attorney. There are three candidates vying to be Finney County Attorney: Susan Richmeier, Tamara Hick, and Brian Sherwood. There are two candidates in the race to represent the 123rd District in the statehouse: incumbent Reynaldo Mesa and challenger John Doll. There are also two candidates seeking to represent the 122nd District: Randy Hayzlett and J. Russell Jennings.
On Thursday current Finney County Attorney John Wheeler Jr. joined four other Southwest Kansas Attorneys, Robert H. Gale Jr., Hamilton County, Dennis C. Jones, Kearny County, Lynn Koehn, Haskell County and Charles Moser, Greeley County, in endorsing Jennings in the race to represent 122nd District.
