Royals unable to turn hits into runs in a 2-1 loss to Chicago Sunday

Kansas City, MO (westernkansasnews.com)–Despite having 11 hits in the game, the Kansas City Royals had a tough time executing in getting runs home in the series finale with the Chicago White Sox Sunday afternoon, as the Royals fall 2-1 in the rubber game of the weekend series. Kansas City scored their lone run of the day on a Chris Getz single in the fifth inning, scoring Mike Moustakas. Louis Mendoza took the loss, as he pitched seven and a third innings for the Royals. KC begins a series with the Seattle Mariners tonight. Jonathan Sanchez gets the start for KC, while Seattle will send Jason Vargas to the mound in a 7:10 start at Kaufman Stadium. Kansas City has lost 10 out of their last 13 games.
