A single vehicle accident caused by severe wind gusts sent a Dodge City resident and four citizens of Mexico to the hospital last Wednesday.  The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that driver Endelia Torres of Dodge City was travelling eastbound on Highway 50, seven miles west of Dodge City, in a Chevy Avalanche when the vehicle was pushed by strong winds.  Torres overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle as it crossed over westbound lanes, overturned, and came to a halt in a ditch on the north side of the highway.  Torres and all four occupants in the vehicle were injured and transported to Western Plains Hospital for treatment.
