Garden City Police have completed their search of St. Catherine Hospital after a bomb threat was discovered in the restroom near the hospital’s Emergency Room. Hospital Executive Director Victor Hawkins says authorities completed their search of the expansive facility at 12:35 p.m. No evidence of the threat being credible was uncovered during the search and no explosive device was found. The facility was not evacuated. Hawkins says the bomb threat was discovered scrawled in the restroom by the hospital’s housekeeping staff on Friday morning.
Hawkins confirms that the hospital is equipped with video surveillance cameras. Police are now poring over footage in an attempt to identify a suspect. Garden City Police Sergeant Michael Reagle says anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact police at (620) 276-1300.
