Verlyn R. “Bud” Fisher, age 87, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Good Samaritan Center in Hays. He was born May 22, 1925 at McPherson the son of Harold & Dorothy Fisher. He married Betty Lou Jamison on August 24, 1947 at Quinter. She died on May 31, 2010. |

Bud attended McPherson schools and graduated from McPherson College. He was an Industrial Arts teacher and coach. He taught in Chase from 1949 to 1962, Lakin 1962 to 1981 and moved to Red River, New Mexico in 1981. He moved to Hays in 2010. He enjoyed carpentry, wood working projects, bus sight-seeing tours, cheering the KU Jayhawks and traveling all over the state attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren sporting events. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 son- Randy Fisher & 1 brother- DeWayne Fisher |

Survivors include daughter, Sandra & Wesley Oakley of Hays, Kansas; son, Barry & Stacey Fisher of Pratt, Kansas; 12 grandchildren, Melanie Petz, Melissa Oakley, Jamie Fisher, Molly Smith, Lindsey McCray, Cody Fisher, Christin Nunnery, Seth Oakley, Brett Reynolds-Fisher, Brooke Fisher, Samuel Fisher, Stephen Fisher; and 25 great-grandchildren. |
