A seven-vehicle pileup sent four motorists to the hospital Tuesday afternoon. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that a driver travelling Southbound on U.S. 283, six miles North of Minneola, slowed down due to gusty winds and blowing dust, causing the driver behind him to reduce speed, whose vehicle was in turn hit by the vehicle behind it. Four separate vehicles then ran into the third vehicle before coming to a halt.
Three of the injured drivers were taken to Western Plains Hospital and one motorist was taken to the hospital in Minneola. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
