Finney County Election Results–Doll, Richmeier Win Big

Here’s a summary of Finney County’s Primary Election Results:

In the race for the State Senate’s 39th District, Larry Powell garnered 1,938 votes to win the race and defeat Steve Morris.  In the race to represent the 117th District in the State Legislature John Ewy came out victorious.  In the race for the 122nd District Russ Jennings came out on top with 651 votes.  In the competition to represent the Garden City based 123rd District John Doll won handily with 1,429 votes to Reynaldo Mesa’s 605.  Mesa had withdrawn from the race but his name still appeared on ballots. 

In the Finney County Commissioner race for District 2 incumbent “Dave” Jones ran unopposed.  In the County Commission District 3 race Duane Drees squeaked by with 642 votes to Troy Unruh’s 567.  Dree’s will square off with Democrat Patsy Fort in November. 

Finally, a candidate from outside the County Attorney’s office has been elected County Attorney:  Susan Richmeier has won the County Attorney’s race with 1,530 votes.
