Judith D (Clower) Patterson, 60, of Garden City, KS, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas. Judy Patterson was born in Trinidad, Colorado on January 31, 1952 the daughter of Elaine (Van Matre) Clower Carlson of Manhattan, KS and the late Robert J Clower. Judy graduated from high school in Deerfield, Kansas in 1970. In December 11, 1971 Judy married the love of her life, the late Charles Andrew Patterson. |

Judy and Charlie lived in Garden City until 1984 when they moved to Mahaska, Kansas which became their home for many years. Judy was mayor of Mahaska, Kansas for several years. She also worked for Region 5 in Nebraska with the mentally challenged for several years. She returned to Garden City in 2007 where she worked as an office manager for Wallace Electric and Underground Specialist. In 2011 she started her dream job as Deerfield City Clerk and was there briefly until her illness forced her to stop. Judy attended First Christian Church in Garden City and enjoyed playing in the bell choir. |

Judy was preceded in death by her husband Charles Patterson, her father Robert Clower, and step-father Harold Carlson, and is survived by her son Steven Patterson his wife Kelli, and their son Gabriel, of Loveland, Colorado, her mother Elaine Carlson of Manhattan, Kansas, sister Janie Claar of Manhattan, Kansas, brother Rodney Clower and his wife Glenda of Salina, Kansas, brother Andrew Clower and his wife Diane of Salina, Kansas, her sister Ellen Mangan and her husband Russ Mangan of Garden City, Kansas, step-brother Mark Carlson and his wife Velma of Hutchinson, Kansas, and step-sister Carolyn Carlson of Larned, Kansas. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. |
