The Kansas Department of Transportation expects a resurfacing project on K-25 from the Grant/Kearny county line to Lakin to start by Wednesday, August 22. The project calls for milling the top one inch of asphalt and replacing it with one-and-a-half inches of new asphalt. The Kansas DOT expects this T-WORKS preservation project to be completed by mid-September. During construction, traffic will be limited to one lane through the work zone, guided by a pilot car. Drivers can expect delays of 15 minutes or less. KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop. J & R Sand Co., Inc., of Liberal is the primary contractor on this approximately $1.3 million project. If you have questions on this project, you can call Larry Meyer, Construction Manager, at 620-384-7821, or Kirk Hutchinson, KDOT Southwest Public Affairs Manager, at 620-676-3241 or 1-877-550-5368 (toll free).
