Man Found Injured on Railroad Tracks in Dodge City Dies

Dodge City Police are investigating the discovery of an injured man found on railroad tracks off of West Market.  Police Chief Craig Mellecker reports that 41-year old Gerard Bazan was found on the railroad tracks suffering from severe blunt force trauma injuries.  The victim was found by a passerby at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday.  Bazan was rushed to Western Plains Regional Hospital for treatment before being transferred to a Wichita hospital where he he died from his injuries. 

Mellecker says the preliminary investigation indicates that Bazan had been driving a motorcycle westbound on Market when for an undetermined reason he locst control of the motorcycle and was ejected.  The fatal crash remains under investigation.
