Visitation: Noon to 8:00 PM Wednesday,   9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Thursday , at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, August   16, 2012 at United Methodist Church with Rev Berniece Ludlum officiating.

Interment:   Dighton Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be   given to Dighton High School Athletic Department or St Catherine Hospice in   care of Boomhower Funeral Home.

Margaret Ann Smith, age 90, died   Monday, August 13, 2012 at Lane County Long Term Care in Dighton. She was   born February 14, 1922 in Lane County the daughter of Daniel Newton &   Nora Leatha (Doll) Thomas. She married Guy Wayne Smith on July 20, 1946 at   Wichita. He died on September 16, 2009.

Margaret received her   Registered Nurse Training at St Anthony Hospital in Dodge City. She worked as   a RN at the Deal Hospital in Dighton, Scott County Hospital and for Dr.   George von Leonrod for 15 years. Her work and her hobby was taking care of people.   Margaret was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dighton, 45 year   member of American Legion Auxiliary, and served on Lane County Hospital Board   for 7 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Dean   Smith, 3 brothers- Dean, Ward & Marion Thomas & 1 sister- Nila Dee   Thomas

Survivors include daughter,   Melinda Smith of Dighton; two sisters, Mildred Bentley of Dighton, Merlyn   Coberly of Dighton; brother, Larry Thomas of Dighton; 5 grandchildren, Alex,   Collin, Shambrey, Kiara & Payton; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxson &   Bentley.
