Dodge City officials and Fireworks Committee members appear to be leaning toward staging the pyrotechnic spectacle on November 11th, Veterans Day. The annual fireworks display was initially planned for Independence Day but was cancelled when Fire Chief Kevin Norton reactivated a ban on fireworks due to very dry conditions and scorching hot temperatures.
Officials are now waiting to hear back from the commercial fireworks vendor to confirm the new date. The display will be orchestrated by Wald & Company All American Fireworks.
