Silver Screen Saturday Nights in GC

The Garden City Recreation Commission is adding two more movie nights to its outdoor summer movie series this weekend to show the movies that got rained out!

Comfort Specialists sponsors FRIDAY at Stevens Park:

For centuries, scientists have pursued him and hunters have tracked him. Some have even said they saw him but no one has been able to prove it until the Henderson family literally runs into him with their car. It’s the startling windup of their camping trip but just the beginning of Steven Spielberg’s rollicking family adventure as the Hendersons take “Harry” home and find their lives drastically changed by this extraordinary creature.

Garden City Board of Realtors sponsors SATURDAY at Garcia Soccer Fields:

Long before the West was won, wild mustangs ran free on the open plains led by a legendary stallion named Spirit. This film is a rousing tale of the rambunctious Spirit’s journey through the untamed West. Encountering man for the first time, Spirit is captured, but he refuses to be broken. His fight for freedom takes him across the frontier where he meets and falls in love with a beautiful painted mare named Rain. He also develops a remarkable friendship with a young Lakota brave, and becomes one of the greatest unsung heroes of the Old West.

First Southern Baptist Church sponsors SUNDAY at Stevens Park:

From the outside looking in, Rich Chaplin (David A.R. White) has everything that any Pastor and family man could ever want. In reality he has lost sight of everything that matters the most, including his family. When he wishes for a life other than his own, he suddenly finds himself trapped within the lives of everyone his apathy has affected; including an elderly woman, a top fashion model, his own wife, and even a goldfish!

Popcorn and drinks will be available for $1.00 each and proceeds will help send our Teens in Theatre to the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, GA!  To find out other ways you can help make that trip happen, call Brian at 276-1200.

For movie titles and future showings visit our website at www.gcrec.com.  In the event of high winds or severe weather, movies will be rescheduled. Call the Hotline at 276-1202 for cancellation details.
