USD-457 Garden City Public School administrators and staff are busy preparing for the start of the new school year in a little over 2-weeks.  School District spokesperson Roy Cessna reminds parents of Middle School students that middle school enrollment happens on Tuesday, between 8:30 and 5:00 at Horace J. Good, and from 8:00 to 4:00 at Kenneth Henderson.  The middle school enrollment fee is $32.

Cessna says Garden City High School officials will conduct additional meetings with parents and students on the introduction of iPads to students at the High School.  The scheduled meetings will be held on Monday, August 6th, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday, August 11th, from 9:00 until10:30 a.m. The meetings will be held in the new high school commons area at 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd.

iPad related topics that will be covered at the meetings include: include policies and procedures related to the iPad, insurance on the device, distribution to students and student discipline as it relates to iPad use.  There will also be an overview of the applications installed on the iPad and methods for teachers and students regarding the turning in of assignments.
