Kansas Highway Patrol Officers will busy inspecting school buses next Tuesday.  The school bus fleet belongs to Garden City Public Schools and the USD-457 School District.  School District spokesperson Roy Cessna says KHP officers will inspect 50 school buses that the district uses to transport thousands of students each school day.

Officers will inspect equipment and mechanical systems on each school bus, including the brake system, steering system, fuel system, mirrors, lights, stop arm and emergency doors and exits.  Officers are also slated to inspect all other vehicles that transport students in the district’s fleet.

Last year, Garden City Public Schools provided transportation for morethan 3,700 students.
