School officials at Victor Ornelas in Garden City have teamed up with the private sector to help kids in need. School supplies will be collected at the Garden City Verizon Wireless store on August 10th through August 12th, this Friday through Sunday, with donations going to Victor Ornelas Elementary School. Verizon spokesperson Zoe Brown says that during the back-to-school drive, residents are encouraged to drop off supplies at the local Garden City Verizon Wireless store, located on Kansas Avenue. Needed school supplies include packs of paper; packs of pens and pencils; notebooks; folders; and three-ring binders.
Brown adds that customers may receive a small gift while supplies last. A limited number of T-Shirts will be handed out to those who donate.
