Kansas Secretary of Revenue Nick will speak in Garden city tomorrow at 3:00 P.M. at Wheat Lands Convention Center (1408 E. Fulton St.).
He will talk about changes to the state’s tax plan which will take effect Jan. 1 and are aimed at helping businesses and all Kansans keep more of their hard earned money.
During the 2012 session, the Kansans Legislature passed a tax package that will lower the tax rates for all Kansans 14 to 24 percent and increases the standard deduction for single head of household filers from $4,500 to $9,000 and for married couples filing jointly from $6,000 to $9,000.
The plan also eliminates income taxes on most non-wage business income for businesses organized as partnerships, LLCs, S-Corporations or sole proprietorships.
Sec. Jordan will give a short overview of the tax plan and answer questions afterwards.
