Lady Buffs Golf Team 5th at State in Wichita and Two Top Ten Placers-Audio

Garden City, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – On an incredible sun splashed warm day in Wichita on Monday, the Garden City High School Lady Buffs Golf Team had two top 10 medalist that guided the team to a 5th place finish. Senior Abbey Campbell led the team with a 5 over 78 for 3rd place and junior Abbi Shaddix was in the mix to vie for the top spot at Rolling Hills Country Club, but struggled down the stretch of the last three holes and shot a 7 over 80 to place 6th. The Lady Buffs remaining scores had junor Megan Steward shoot 101, sophomore Lindsay Bradstreet 102, with both freshman Hannah Lieker at 112 and Kendra Martin shot 124. Garden City was 5th overall as a team with 361, Shawnee Mission East won the 6A State Title with a score of 343, Maize 2nd at 348, Topeka-Washburn Rural 3rd with 350 and Olathe Northwest 4th with 358. First year head Coach Melinda Base talks about her teams perfomance and their drive to become better.
