Tuesday afternoon about 2:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Safford for a reported battery. It is alleged that 19 year old Melissa Mondragon of Garden City was involved in an argument with a 29-year-old Garden City man and struck him with a belt and kept him from leaving. She also allegedly threw a knife at him when he tried to leave the residence. The knife struck the man in the back, but did not cause any injuries. Mondragon was arrested at the scene and is currently lodged in the Finney County Jail on allegations of aggravated assault, domestic violence battery and criminal restraint in lieu of 20 thousand dollars bond.
