Ronald L. Borell, age 82, of Dighton, Ks, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Hodgeman County Hospital in Jetmore. He was born July 11, 1930 in Ellsworth, Kansas the son of Ed & Alta (Wire) Borell. Ronald married Mary Lou Bockelman on August 9, 1964 at Dighton.
Funeral Service will be tomorrow 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 02, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City with Rev. Warren Prochnow officiating. Internment will follow in Dighton Memorial cemetary.
Ron lived in Wilson until his family moved to Dighton in 1946. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in June of 1944. Ron graduated from Dighton High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955. After his discharge he returned to the family farm to farm and feed cattle. Ron’s hobby was his work and he always loved a good challenge. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers – Gene Borell and Loren Borell.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Borell of Dighton; son, Tory and Melinda Borell of Dighton; brother, Elvern Borell of Dighton; sister, Sharon Hempler of Almena; granddaughter, Emma Borell of Dighton; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
