Sublette Man Dies In Crash

A Sublette man who was stranded died early yesterday morning after a pickup truck who was headed to help the man crashed into the disabled vehicle.   The accident happened at approximately 2:00AM yesterday about 5 miles north of Sublette.

The man has been identified as 24-year-old Nicholas Eugene Chaffin of Sublette.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Chaffin’s  vehicle was “broken down and blacked out” in the middle of the road.  The pickup truck driver who was trying to help was taken to a hospital with a possible injury.
