Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 11, 2011 at First Christian Church in Dighton with Reverend Howard Bever officiating.


Memorial contributions may be given to Lane County Historical Society in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.

Gaye Wilson, age 78, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, atLaneCountyHospitalin Dighton. She was born January 7, 1935, inLawton,Oklahomathe daughter of Sam & Goldie (Adams) McNeil. Gaye married Dean E. Wilson on March 1, 1952, in Walters,Oklahoma.

Gaye grew up on a farm near Walters,Oklahomaand graduated fromWaltersHigh School. She moved toKansasin 1954, and she and her husband were farmers in Southern Gove County since then. Gaye was very active in the Republican Party and worked on Bob Dole, Jerry Moran & Robert Bennett campaigns. She also was a longtime 4-H Leader, served on the Gove County Hospital Board, Gove County FSA Board, Healy Co-op Board & was appointed to the Kansas State Highway Commission. She enjoyed reading newspapers on her computer and playing the markets. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son- Earl Dean Wilson, 2 brothers- Keith McNeil & Vince McNeil & 2 sisters- Waunda Pennington & Mary Teague.

Survivors include her husband, Dean E. Wilson; 2 daughters, Beverly Roemer, Mary Ann Ming; 1 son, Carl Wilson; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
