Liberal, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-When it’s all said and done, Dodge City might label the 2013 season: the year of what ifs. With their postseason hopes all but gone, the A’s were once again on the short end of a 6-5 Liberal victory Tuesday night at Brent Gould field.

Dodge City held a 5-2 advantage late before the Bee Jays plated four runs in the 8th-including Lewis Giulbeau’s go-ahead, two-run double.

The win pushed Liberal’s divisional record back to .500 at 17-17.

More importantly, the Bee Jays secured a spot in this week’s NBC World Series. It will be their 55th all-time trip to Wichita; five national championships and seven runner ups.

Bee Jays will play the San Diego Force at 4 p.m. Saturday. Dodge City closes the regular with a two-game, home-and-home series with Hays beginning Wednesday night at Cavalier Field.
