The Garden City Police Department, in conjunction with St. Catherine Hospital and USD 457, is pleased to announce we will host training related to school and workplace violence. The training, provided by the National Tactical Officers Association, will encompass two days of instruction to help law enforcement, schools and businesses prepare for and respond to incidents of mass violence. GCPD Swat Team Leader Sgt. Courtney Prewitt told Western Kansas News that this training is essential so that employees as well as the general public can know what can happen during these types of scenarios:
