Betty J. Phillips
Betty J. Phillips, age 91, of Elkhart, Kansas died November 5, 2013 at the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born May 2, 1922 in Cimarron County, Oklahoma the daughter of Elmer and Stella (Burton) Isom.
Betty grew up in Cimarron County and graduated from Elkhart High School. She married Glenn Adams in May 1941. He died in December 1946. Betty was a homemaker and mother to her children until she started working at the Morton County Court House as the County Treasurer. She married Gilbert Phillips in 1968. She attended the First Baptist Church in Elkhart and enjoyed her time at the Elkhart Senior Center.
Survivors include one son, Glenn Adams and wife Tracey of Sheridan, Wyoming; one daughter, Shirley Grinstead and husband Harold of Florence, Kansas; one sister, Ruth Smith of Elkhart, Kansas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; hsubands, Glenn and Gilbert; and one brother, Burton Isom.
Visitation: 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, November 08, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, Kansas.
Graveside Service: 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 09, 2013 at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas.
Interment: Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas.
