Doris Lenore Goodrich Barber, age 96, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at her home in Garden City. She was born May 29, 1917 at North Loup, Nebraska, the daughter of Clifford John & Eva May (Pierce) Goodrich. She was married to Dell Claude Barber on July 20, 1935 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He died May 18, 1999.

Doris graduated high school at North Loup, Nebraska. She lived most of her adult life in Colorado Springs and worked as a Baker in the YWCA Cafeteria, a Cook at the Ponderosa Southern Baptist Assembly Grounds & in the Accounting Department for Preferred Risk Insurance Company. She moved to Garden City in 2012. She enjoyed genealogy, history, writing & traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son- Theron Duane Barber, grandson- Kenneth James Watts, great-grandson- Derrick Clayton Andrews, 2 brothers- Paul Goodrich & Charles Goodrich & 2 sisters- Dorothy Stanghellini & Ersel Jorgensen.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Carley Avon Hazelton of Garden City, Kansas, Bonnie Bee (James) Watts of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Dixie Rae Boyer of Rush, Colorado; 1 son, Charles Leon Barber of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Ronald Goodrich of Pueblo, Colorado; 2 sisters, Frances Van Horn of North Loup, Nebraska, Beverly Stillman of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 06, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Colorado Springs with Pastor Carley Hazelton officiating.

Interment: Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
