Lola Margaret Renick, age 84, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at her home. She was born August 14, 1929 at Dodge City, the daughter of Harold Raymond & Thelma Oneita (Armentrout) Hoskinson. Margaret married Donald Ray Renick on February 28, 1949 at Ingalls. He died on October 14, 2003. 

Margaret grew up in the Copeland and Ingalls area and graduated from Ingalls High School. She attended Dodge City Community College. Before marriage, she worked for a law firm and then for the Cimarron Insurance Company, as a secretary. She and her husband, Don, married and farmed in the Charleston area. She moved to Garden City in 1990. She was a 4-H project leader and enjoyed being around children of all ages. She enjoyed baking pies, cakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls and making jellies for the Farmers Market for the past 10 years. She also cooked and baked for many funeral dinners and friends. She was involved with the Ingalls Alumni Reunion Committee. She liked taking photographs, using her computer and e-mailing friends – especially for reunion and family activities. She enjoyed welcoming people to her home and various events. Margaret was a member of St Dominic Catholic Church of Garden City, St Stanislaus Catholic Church of Ingalls, The Golf Club at Southwind of Garden City, Ironwood Country Club of Palm Desert, California, and Kissing Camels Country Club of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Don; three brothers – Harold Hoskinson, Jr., Ron Hoskinson and Richard Hoskinson; granddaughter- Starla Renee Renick; and brother-in-law, Rodney Lies. 

Survivors include six children Michael R. & Judy Renick of Cimarron, Mark A. & Cheri Renick of Cimarron, Janice K. Renick of Garden City, Gary S. & Dosha Renick of St Joseph, Minnesota, Bruce G. Renick of Ingalls, Julie A. & Duane Walker of Bella Vista, Arkansas; five brothers, Dan & Barbara Hoskinson of Forsyth, Missouri, Charles & Mary Hoskinson of Cimarron, Melvin & Merry Hoskinson of Wichita, Leonard & Shirley Hoskinson of Fort Dodge, Joe & Kay Hoskinson of Garden City; two sisters, Clarine “Toke” & Gene Heiman of Garden City, Karol Lies of Minneola; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, and from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home. 

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 01, 2014 at St Dominic Catholic Church with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating.

Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2014 at St Dominic Catholic Church. 

Memorials may be given to the St Dominic Catholic Church or Shepherd Of The Plains Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
