Holton leads after day one in Class 4A; Orosco in the finals

Salina, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Holton is in the lead after the first day of the Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament. The Wildcats put four into the finals on Saturday. For the southwest Kansas Wrestlers, three were eliminated, leaving seven wrestling in the tournament. One area wrestler qualified for the finals. Otto Orosco from Ulysses won his semi-final match by first period fall. Ulysses lost two wreslters in the consolation first round, and Scott City lost one wrestler. Hugoton’s lone wrestler is still in contention for a medal.

Competition with the consolation cross-bracket round begins at 9 am Saturday.
