Law Win First Game Going Away

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It was a successful debut for the new Dodge City Law indoor professional football team winning their only exhibition game by crushing the Missouri Mustangs 60-10 Saturday night at the United Wireless Arena.

Dodge City scored the first 26 points of the game and had a pair of interceptions returned for touchdowns. The first pick six came from DaeJohn Love for 45 yards making it 14-0 early in the first quarter and Mike Bragg, a former KC Chief returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown with 5:22 left in the 3rd quarter to give the Law a 47-3 lead. The Law defense had six sacks on the night and held Missouri quarterback Cooper Moore to 10/26 passing for 72 yards and three interceptions.

Dodge City was hitting on all cylinders scoring two touchdowns within the first three minutes. Dominique Carson carried the load on the ground rushing eight times for 68 yards and 2 tocuhdowns. DD Holyfield had 4 carries for 18 yards and two touchdowns. His two yard run gave the Law their first touchdown. Dodge City quarterback Charles McCullum managed the game well going 12/17 for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns. McCullum was sacked only once. His favorite targets were Maurice Young who had 5 catches for 57 yards, Kendrick Ings caught three passes for 57 yards and one score.

The Law have their first regular season game in the Champions Professional Indoor Football League on the road in Omaha next Sunday. Kickoff is set for 3pm, pre-game coverage at 2:30 on Z98 with Mike Pilosof and Ross Miller. The following Saturday Dodge City has their home opener against the Oklahoma Defenders.
