A’s blown out again

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-After back-to-back nights of offensive futility, Dodge City finally found their groove. It still wasn’t enough.

El Dorado blew open a one-run game with a nine-run ninth inning en route to a 14-4 victory over the A’s on Wednesday night at Cavalier Field.

After striking out Noah Lee to begin the ninth, the wheels fell off for Dodge City reliever Jay Rawlins. Two errors and a single followed to open the flood gates.

Jonathan Eberhardt scorched a run-scoring single followed by Tony Kjolsing’s two-run hit that broke the game open. Then, after Rawlins was yanked for Jeremy Erisman Noah Lee belted a two-run homer to make it 12-4. The Broncos would tack on two more in the inning.

Kody Jones started the game for Dodge City. He lasted four innings, allowing four runs on four hits while striking out five and walking three.
