Marvin Thomas Steers Sr.

Marvin Thomas Steers Sr. 87, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, KS.

He was born December 31, 1927 at Ponca City, OK, the son of Frank and Delphia (Grayson) Steers.

He married Rosemary A Dannels at Huntsville, Arkansas; she preceded him in death on August 8, 2011.

Marvin attended Ponca City, OK Schools. Marvin had also served in the Army during the Korean War. After serving in the military he went into trucking from which he retired from in 1974. He had worked for numerous companies including RJ Ellison Propane of Ringwood, OK, ACME Tool of Liberal, KS & Woodward, OK; CRC Byco in Grand Junction, CO & Houston, TX, and National Carriers of Liberal, KS. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, and fishing & hunting. He was a member of the VFW.

He is survived by Two Sons- Marvin Steers Jr. and wife Beverly of Liberal, KS., Ron Steers and wife Cheryl of Turpin, OK; Three Daughters- Carolyn Sue Rainey of Coffeyville, KS, Rhonda Chapman and husband Bill of Havana, KS, and Joyce McLaughlin of Sand Springs, OK; One Brother- Duane Steers and wife Leona of Conway, AR; Ten Grandchildren, Twenty-Three Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great Grandson.

He was also preceded in death by his Parents, Four Brothers and One Sister.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM Thursday July 9, 2015 at Miller Mortuary.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Friday July 10, 2015 at the Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell, OK with Mike Sweetman officiating.
