Pete Joseph Steffens

Pete Joseph Steffens, age 81, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on January 6, 1934 in Healy, Kansas, the son of Leonard and Katherine Wendler Steffens. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1955 moving from Healy, Kansas.

In 1973 he and his son, Phil started Pete’s Plumbing in Scott City, Kansas. Pete was also a farmer and worked for Wheatland Electric for 20 years before transferring to Sunflower Electric in Garden City, Kansas in the water department as a Lab Tech until retiring in 1996

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus both of Scott City, Kansas.

On August 15, 1953 he married Victoria Hanzlick in Dighton, Kansas. She survives.

Survivors include his Wife – Vicky Steffens of Scott City, Kansas, One Son – Phil & Danna Steffens of Scott City, Kansas, Two Daughters – Cindy & Jeff Schmitt of Kansas City, Missouri, Tammy Brand of Carthage, Missouri, Four Brothers – Larry Steffens of Imperial, California, Lou Steffens of Imperial, California, Dick Steffens of Leawood, Kansas, Tom Steffens of Beloit, Kansas, One Sister – Sherry Barnett of Hutchinson, Kansas, One Daughter in Law – Penny Andrasek of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister in Law – Norma Steffens of Imperial, California, Thirteen Grandchildren and Twenty Three Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Two Sons – Charles Steffens and Galen Steffens and Three Brothers.

Vigil Services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015.

Memorial Services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 with Fr. Bernard Felix & Deacon Duane Lampe presiding.

Memorials In Lieu Of Flower may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Childrens Mercy Hospital or St. Jude Children Hospital in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.

There will be no calling times.
