Dale Duane Tyler, 76, died August 18, 2015 at his home in Copeland. He was born on July 29, 1939 in Garden City, the son of George Thadeus and Edythe (Nichols) Tyler. 

Dale was a lifetime resident of Copeland. He graduated from Copeland High School in 1957. On July 23, 1961, he married Jane Northcutt in Copeland. She survives. Dale farmed north of Copeland for 57 years, remaining active in the farm business even as is health declined. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dale attended as many of their activities as he could. He and Jane would travel to see them as often as they could. 

He was a member of the Copeland Christian Church and past member of the Lyons Club. Dale served on the USD 476 School Board for 10 years and also served on the Copeland Township board and the Gray County Planning Commission. 

Dale is survived by his wife Jane of Copeland; three children, Duane Tyler and wife Svetlana of Lewisville, Texas, Curtis Tyler of Copeland, and Amy Jo Bergan and husband Kevin of Elkader, Iowa; one sister, Joan Ward of Dodge City; and eight grandchildren, Alexey Tsybanov, Kayley and Zachary Tyler, Derek, Kelsey, Kayla, Mariah, and Mitchell Bergan. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eddie Tyler. 

Funeral service will be held at South Gray Junior High Gymnasium in Copeland on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Bruce Titus presiding. Burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Copeland Christian Church, Copeland American Legion, or Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
