Gerald E. Miller, 70, died Monday, August 24, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. 

He was born September 25, 1944 at Beloit, the son of Glen Wood and Juanita Clementine Elizabeth (Cook) Miller. He worked for the American Fire Company and in the 1970’s, moved to Dodge City from Salina. He was a Paramedic for Ford County Fire and EMS, retiring after 25 years of service. He also worked for Furniture Outlet on his days off and was very active with Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 where he was past Commander from 2010 to 2012 and past District Chaplain and also held various chairmanships. 

He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. 

Survivors include: his brother, Robert Miller, Dodge City; a sister, Kathleen Grace Miller, Beloit; and several nephews and nieces. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Paul Wayne Miller and Glen David Miller and a sister, Geraldine Webster. 

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Rev. Dick Robbins officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Dodge, with full military rites by Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 and Military Honors for the State of Kansas. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
