GC Rec Pushing Reforms, Looks For Permanent Director

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The recommendations have been made by the consulting firm hired by the city on changes the Garden City Recreation Commission needs to make in averting future budget shortfalls. Monday night the discussion begins on how to implement those plans. The new Core Fitness is a major concern. Rec Interim Kathleen Whitley on what management study suggested.

Current lease rate at Core Fitness is $11,500 a month. Monday night’s meeting is at 5:15 from the Rec Building.

The Board also Monday night gave Whitley permission to post the opening on a couple of websites last night.

The board wants applicants to have a background in finance and recreation. Whitley has committed to staying on as interim director until the end of July.
