Norman W. Franz, 80, died May 5, 2016 at University of Colorado Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was born on December 24, 1935 at Buhler, KS the son of Jacob and Anna (Regier) Franz .

He married Carole Davis on September 9, 1960 in Dodge City, she survives. Mr. Franz in his younger years worked as a Safeway manager. He then started Franz Custom Harvesting and was also engaged in farming until his death. Mr. Franz enjoyed playing the guitar, piano and organ in his spare time. He loved working with his hands and building different items that he may use around the farm and for his business. 

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.

He is survived by his wife Carole Franz of the home, two daughters Sonya Harris and husband Keith of Wichita; Rhonda King and husband Conrad of Atglen, PA; one son Kevin Franz of Dodge City; two brothers Albert Franz and wife Lovella of Buhler; Milburn Franz and wife Valeta of Oklahoma City, OK. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren . 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Byron Dean Franz and a brother Delbert Franz.

Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:30 AM with Mr. Richard Crockett presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM, the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Norman Franz Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
