Joyce Ann Kraft

Joyce Ann Kraft, 71 died Monday, September 5, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born February 6, 1945 in Lakin, Kansas the daughter of H. Walter & Laura (Merz) Coerber.
Joyce attended school in Deerfield, Kansas, graduating in 1963. On July 28, 1963 she married Gary Kraft in Deerfield. They made their home in Deerfield where they raised their three sons. They moved to Waverly, Nebraska in 2013 and have lived there since. Joyce was a homemaker and also worked as a teacher’s aid at the Deerfield Elementary School until she retired in 2006. She enjoyed spending time with her family, photography, and making cards to send to family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Gary Kraft of the home; three sons Rick and Lori Kraft of Hooker, Ok., Rob and Lisa Kraft of Lee Summit, Mo., and Russ and Candy Kraft of Waverly, Ne.; a sister Karen & Everett Glenn of Garden City, Ks.; 5 grandchildren Chelsey, Luke & wife Jennifer, Colton, Sarah, and Sydney; and many nieces and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and a baby sister Linda.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City with Leland Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Ks. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family request memorials given to the Waverly Fire & Rescue or to the Kearny County Hospital both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
