Virginia P. Herrman, 87, died November 19, 2016 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. She was born on July 11, 1929 at the family home near Fowler, Kansas the daughter of Tom Scoggins and Mae Scoggins (Stillwell).

She married Gerald Herrman on May 26, 1947 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City, he survives. Mrs. Herrman enjoyed working on Genealogy projects as well as crocheting, baking and collecting dolls in her spare time. She was also a Scout Leader for several years. 

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City Genealogical Society, and a past Altar Society Member all of Dodge City. 

She is survived by her husband Gerald of the home; one son John Herrman and wife Patty of Dodge City; two daughters Linda Conkle and husband Larry of Pratt, Kansas; Donna Robinson and husband Bill of Dodge City; one sister Edna Rubin and husband Max of Williams, Indiana. Mrs. Herrman is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers Walter Scoggins, George Scoggins, Jesse Scoggins, Delbert Scoggins and Loren Hendrickson, and one sister Goldie Frink.

Vigil Service will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday November 25, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Aneesh Parappanuttu presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe or Manor Of The Plains in care of the funeral home.
