Harry Leroy Hundertmark

Harry Leroy Hundertmark, 75, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born August 10, 1941 in Goodland, Kansas the son of Walter & Margaret Catherine (Nolan) Hundertmark.
Harry grew up and attended school in Sharon Springs, Kansas. He served in the United States Army from November 27, 1963 to October 13, 1965. He lived in Goodland, KS, Burlington, CO, and Scott City, KS, before moving to Garden City in the late 1970’s. He has lived in Garden City since. While living in Goodland, he worked at the dairy. He then farmed in Scott City, later farmed for the Heiman family in Garden City, and then worked at Farmland Industries. Harry then worked for more than 20 years in produce at Dillon’s in Garden City. Harry was a member of Bible Christian Church in Garden City, the Elks Lodge, and the VFW of Garden City. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends, and he cherished his time with family and his grandchildren.
On November 1, 1964, he married Ruby Violet Eslinger in Stratton, Colorado. She survives. Other survivors include four children Angela Jane (Mike) Garcia of Garden City, KS, Kevin Leroy (Julie) Hundertmark of Monterey, CA, Dana Catherine (Mark) Richmeier of Holcomb, KS, and Randall Shane (Denise) Hundertmark of Garden City, KS; a brother Walter (Carolyn) Hundertmark of Scott City, KS; a sister Luella Black of Colby, KS; eleven grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Harry is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Alta Evans and Caroline Nowack.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Bible Christian Church in Garden City with Pastor Scott Rosen and Bob Bates officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with military graveside rites conducted by the United States National Guard Honor Guard and the American Legion District #8 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family request memorials given to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
