Juanita Crone, 92, died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home in Lakin, Kansas. She was born January 30, 1925 in Fargo, Oklahoma the daughter of Earl Worth & Pearl Elizabeth (Folkers) Crain.
Juanita moved with her family to Lakin when she was a young child. She has been a Kearny County and Lakin resident since. She attended grade school in North Kearny. She then attended Lakin High School and graduated in 1943. After high school, Juanita worked as a secretary for Beymer & Beymer for a short time. On January 28, 1945, Juanita married Gordon W. Crone in Lakin. She has worked most of her life as a homemaker and farm wife. Juanita was a member of the Lakin United Methodist Church and 4-H. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, quilting, sewing, dancing, and going to the horse races.
Survivors include a son John David Crone of Lakin; a daughter Patricia Ann Saxon of Lakin; five grandchildren Kayla Crone, Keena & wife Katie Crone, Sage Vann (Sarah Jackson), Cassie (Ed) McDonald, and Clayton (Sara) Vann; and ten great-grandchildren Keeton Crone, Lukas Crone, Genevieve Vann, Liam Vann, August Vann, Amari McDonald, Kameira McDonald, Carson Vann, Beckham Vann, & Archer Vann. Juanita is preceded in death by her husband Gordon who died on February 12, 1994. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and three brother Delmer Tayler, Orville Taylor, and Bob Taylor.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2016 at the Lakin Cemetery in Lakin. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to Kearny County Home Health in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin.
