Buffaloes and panthers finish in 1-1 draw

Great Bend, KS-A tie is definitely not a loss, but for Garden City soccer, it once again was the case of what could have been.

The Buffaloes and Panthers finished in a 1-1 draw at Memorial Stadium on Tuesday.

“We did a good job of pressuring the ball,” goalie Kaylee Keller said. “We missed some chances to score, but overall we did what we had to do.”

Abigail Jarmer, who scored the go-ahead goal on Monday vs. Hays, converted the only score vs. Great Bend in the seventh minute. The Panthers tied it in the 72nd minute on Kaily Griffith’s goal.

But the story line was this: Garden City out shot Great Bend 12-2 but netted only one goal.
