Rebecca R. Hardin, 86, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita.
She was born February 27, 1931 at Dodge City, the daughter of Valente and Josefa (Gonzalez) Rodriguez. She was an LPN at St Anthony’s Hospital, Trinity Hospital, and spent over 30 years at the Dodge City Medical Center. She worked at Family Planning for a number of years after that. She was a lifetime Dodge City resident and moved to Wichita in August of 2016.
She was a faithful member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City and was an Associate for the Sisters of St. Joseph.
On December 29, 1956 she married Roy Hardin at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2001.
Survivors include: her son, Richard Hardin / Bro Guadalupe, Wichita; her daughter, Gina Hardin, Wichita; her grandson, Rosston Eubank, Wichita; and numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Jesse and Fred Rodriguez and 2 sisters, Esther Rodriguez and Amelia Pina.
Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Thursday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. Inurnment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Wednesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
