Fire causes temporary closure of KFC

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) A fire Monday at the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 2206 E Kansas Avenue has caused the business to close temporarily.

The Garden City Fire Dept. received the call at 5:23 p.m. and cleared the scene at 12:02 a.m. The fire occurred in a storage room because of cardboard boxes that were too close to the hot water heater. The boxes caught on fire and broke a water line that sprayed and put out the fire.

The fire was out by the time crews arrived on scene. KFC is expected to be back open sometime Tuesday.
