Cimarron’s Ediger Resigns

Cimarron, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–During his tenure as head coach at Cimarron, David Ediger’s teams were no doubt one of the top teams in the High Plains League. For the first time in 14 seasons, there will be a new leader on the sidelines for the Lady Bluejays.

David Ediger has resigned from his role as the Athletic Director/Assistant Principal, and Head Girls Basketball Coach on Monday, ending his tenure in Cimarron. His resignations were approved at Monday’s school board meeting.

Ediger has been the schools Athletic Director for the past 15 years, and the Lady Bluejay head coach for the past 13 seasons. He had a record of 239-74 in 13 years leading Cimarron, and with his previous stops, his career record was 314-100. At Cimarron, he led the Lady Bluejays to three state tournament appearances, finishing fourth in Class 2A in 2007, and Class 3A runners-up in 2008 and 2015. The Lady Bluejays finished 13-9 this past season, falling to Norton last Friday night 47-23 in the Sub-State Semi-Finals in Colby.

As of now, Ediger has no immediate future plans.
