Buffalo golf 7th at state; Audrain makes top five
Kansas City, KS-The Garden City boys High School golf team finished seventh at the 2018 state golf tournament at Ironhorse Golf Course. Defending state champion Sion Audrain placed fourth individually as Parker Beal from Topeka Washburn Rural was first. Shawnee Mission East won the team title.
“We played pretty well,” Audrain said afterwards. “On front nine I had eight pars and one bogey.”
On the backside, Audrain birdied 14, parred six of the other seven holes before a bogey on 18 pushed him to 1-over for the day. He finished two shots behind Beal.
As for the rest of the team, Mason Shaddix shot an 83 and tied for 29th while Tyler Morren fired an 86, and Reid Richmeier and Aaron Schafer shot 88.
Dodge City finished ninth with Luke Gleason coming in 40th at 13-over par.
